Philip Sohmen
Co-Founder, YK Pao School
Mr. Philip Sohmen is a co‐founder of YK Pao School in Shanghai. YK Pao School is a non‐profit school offering a unique bilingual and bi‐cultural education rooted in Chinese culture with an international approach and perspective. The school continues the family philanthropic tradition of Mr Sohmen’s grandfather Sir YK Pao, the renowned Hong Kong businessman and philanthropist. The YK Pao School aims to develop a love of learning, critical thinking skills and social responsibility in our students using a student‐centred approach that emphasizes development of the whole person, including arts, sports, group activities and community service as well as academic studies. Mr. Sohmen combines international management experience working in the USA, Europe and Asia as a consultant for several Fortune 500 companies with a passion for education. He is actively involved in the development of education in China as a member of the Shanghai CPPCC and committee member of the Ningbo University Development Council, China Oxford Scholarship Fund and China Vocational Education Association. After winning twin scholarships to Eton College, Mr. Sohmen obtained his Bachelors degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University and a Masters degree in East Asian Studies at Stanford University.

Su Yunsheng
President, Etopia, CAUP Tongji University
As a registered urban planner from Shanghai Tongji Urban Planning and Design Institute, Mr.Su Yunsheng is one of the founders of Urban China magazine, which is the first real magazine on urbanism in China. He has engaged in urban planning for nearly 10 years, which also is the fastest developing age of China. Mr. Su has participated in protective projects of more than 10 historical towns and been in charge of more than 100 urban planning projects in more than 60 cities - many of them winning bids. He has the experience of carrying on projects in 4 foreign countries. His representative works includes conceptual design of Expo2010 in Shanghai, planning of the new capital of Angola, implementation planning of Expo’s Village of the Expos 2010 in Shanghai, and the patent of easy-constructing architecture system.
Su set up Etopia - a building development company - in 2008 with Tongji colleagues. In the same year he patented an Etopia construction system exhibited in Hong Kong in Shenzhen City Biennale exhibition, playing to their professional influence to guide the profound changes in China construction.

Ellen Carberry
Co-Founder, Greentech Initiative
EllenG. Carberry is a Venture Partner with Beijing-based Hao Capital, aprivate equity firm, which invests growth capital in mid-market,private companies in China. Carberry brings two decades of experiencein commercializing new IT products and services in Asia, China and theU.S., of which the last six years have been based in Beijing.Previously, she was the Vice President of Business Development, AsiaPacific for Red Hat, the leader in open source software. For Red Hat,she launched the Greater China business and established and led the OEMAP sales from IBM, Intel and Lenovo. Her experience also includesfounding and leading IBM China’s outsourced services for China’sFinancial Services Sector. Prior to IBM, she founded and led sales andbusiness development at Mainspring, a venture-backed e-commerceprofessional services firm acquired by IBM in 2001. She also ledbusiness development for the Ziff-Davis Online Network, later acquiredby AT&T Business Services, and was a regional sales manager forIBM’s Financial Services Sector in the U.S. She graduated fromGeorgetown University with a B.A. in economics and literature.
